About the Event
Begin this self-guided art walk in the Tasting Room for a wine tasting and then set off for a self guided stroll through the vineyards & apple orchard up to the base of the Niagara Escarpment as you view 18 ceramic works of art created by artist and winery owner, Richard Sean Manning to honor history.
The land that Freedom Run Winery sits upon, the Niagara Escarpment, is steeped in history.
In the 1800s enslaved African-American families ran from the south aided by the Underground Railroad, and escaped through the forests of the Niagara Escarpment under cover of night, from the Erie Canal to the Niagara River, and once across, to freedom in Canada. Hence, our name ~ Freedom Run Winery.
