Syrah has long been the basis for reds from the northern Rhone, creating some of the world’s most prized and collectable wines. Now Syrah, often labeled under the pseudonym, Shiraz, is grown in abundance around the world, and is responsible for many of the most expensive modern cult wines. We will explore examples from around the world and discover how this often rustic and tannic grape can achieve depth and elegance.
